Welcome to our weekly blog post.

We have had lots of fun at The Acorns this week!

We welcomed Mrs Nicola Howarth to our team, the children were excited to meet her and have been brilliant little helpers showing her the ropes.

Some of the children visited Summerlands Care Home to enjoy a story, some games and a chat with the residents.

The children walked there holding onto the magic rope and they saw lots of interesting things along the way.

The children enjoyed a lovely story with the Dubutots storytellers and then had fun with bubbles and parachute games.

They had some time to chat to the residents afterwards and some of the children had brought artwork to show.

The children are already looking forward to their next visit.

We enjoyed doing lots of puzzles and playing games this week.

Thank you to the children who brought in games to share with their friends.

We have had a great time using the hammer and tap set and have created some brilliant pictures.

The tiny pins are super sharp and it was quite tricky for us to hold the pins and hammer at the same time - but we got there.

We have also been practising our scissor skills.

It was Nursery School Book week and we enjoyed looking through your big books.

Mrs Irwin enjoys spending time with the children chatting about their photos.

We used the salt tray to practise our letter writing - this is a brilliant activity and one easily replicated at home.

We spent lots of time in the garden and the weather was mostly kind to us.

Its beginning to feel a lot like spring!

Sunshine, smiles and lots of exploring.

Look what we found this week ...

Arts & Crafts - We experimented with paints and colour mixing.

We made fabulous box models.

We also enjoyed exploring the musical instrument box.

Some of the children grouped together to make a band.

On Monday, Paulina will be joining us to lead some Forest School sessions with the children.

She will be with us in Lindfield each Monday and will be at Westmeston on Tuesdays.
