A Big Welcome Back to Westmeston W/C 6th September 2021
A big welcome back to all our wonderful children! We have had a lovely week making new friends and hearing about summer adventures.
This week we have been encouraging the children to explore and get used to their surroundings and helping them to adjust to new routines.
The children enjoyed playing with the water run, mud kitchen and of course, climbing trees.
The children created some wonderful self-portraits and had lots of discussions about hair and eye colour and how we are all different from each other. We shared some lovely stories about being welcoming and showing kindness to everyone.
We also had fun seeing how much we had grown over the holidays and ordering our friends by height.
Friday saw us head out on our first walk of the term and the rain was back. The teachers were so happy to see the children hadn’t forgotten how to put on their own wet weathers and welly boots. Well Done Everyone, some brilliant independence skills.
The children excitedly headed out for the important task of blackberry picking and had some lovely ideas of what to make …
“Blackberry pancakes”
“Jam”
“Blackberry and Apple Crumble”
Finishing Friday on a high by making blackberry puddings, we hope they tasted delicious.
Have a brilliant weekend, Mrs Spencer
