Week commencing 15th January 2024 - Acorns 59
Welcome to our blog post.
This week we have been learning all about Turkey.
Thank you to Molly's Mummy for all of the info, pics and ideas that she shared with us.
We made Borek for lunch.
Emma kindly came in to cook with the children.
We chopped up parsley, some children used knives and others used scissors.
We rolled our feta mixture in filo pastry sheets and then fried them.
We painted the Turkish flag.
The children recognised the shapes within the flag and painted around the shapes carefully.
We have displayed the flags around the nursery for everyone to see.
We enjoyed listening to some traditional Turkish music and danced around the lounge.
Molly and Seth shared photos of their trips to Turkey to visit family.
It was lovely to see them.
Thank you.
Molly brought in a Turkish rug to show us and we all designed our own rug on paper, using a selection of texture stampers.
We enjoyed garden time – searching for ice in the flower pots.
We found something very special ... can you spot it?
It was very cold but the sun was shining.
The children hoped to see more snow.
Please remember to pack warm clothes, wet weathers, hats and cosy gloves.
Here are a few more photos from our week.
We hope you enjoyed reading about our week.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Next week we will be travelling all around the UK.
