Hello Everyone.
Welcome to our blog post.
This week our focus has been on bugs and minibeasts.
We have noticed that we are beginning to see more wildlife in the garden - the flowers that are beginning to bloom have attracted a few bees this week. We also have found worms, woodlouse, a beetle, ants and spiders.

We had some reference books in the garden so we could learn about the bugs we found.
We also read about birds and bugs from other countries.

We did some mud painting !! Who needs real paint when you can use mud !!

We went on a worm hunt ... can you spot any spaghetti worms?

It was a beautiful week and the sun was shining. We gave our flowers and plants some water.

We used the big blocks in the garden and made a little course to follow.

We did more painting in the garden - this time we used our spaghetti worms dipped in real paint.
We used pegs to pick up our wiggly worms - a wonderful opportunity to use our fine motor skills.

We enjoyed reading the book Superworm by Julia Donaldson.
The children were able to recall parts of the story and join in with the repeated refrains.
Well done everyone - great listening and focus.
Here are a little selection of photos from our week.

We hope you have enjoyed learning about our week.
We had had lots of fun.
As the weather begins heat up it might be time to start thinking about sun cream and hats.
Please apply sun cream to your child in the morning and we will reapply throughout the day as needed with their named lotion.
Thank you.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Mrs Franks and The Acorns Team.
