Week commencing 20th November 2023 - Acorns 25
This week our focus has been on music and sound.
We have had lots of fun creating and exploring different sounds.
We made our own instruments - the children chose boxes, tubs and pots from our junk box and then filled them carefully with pasta, rice and lentils to create shakers.
Th were very proud of them and were excited to take them home.
We have started to learn our Christmas songs this week - we have been concentrating on Jingle Bells, I'm a cracker and Here we go round the Christmas tree.
If you would like to purchase a Christmas CD with The Acorns Christmas songs then please send in an email to Sophie or speak to Mrs Voller.
We have been playing our harmonicas - experimenting with the sounds they can make.
The children have been working hard to copy the sounds the adults make and to follow a rhythm as well as playing freely.
We enjoyed creating large scale art whilst listening to music - making marks on our paper and following the beat of the music.
It was a group activity and we shared resources and space.
Great work everyone !
We made some fresh playdough - the children helped to measure out the ingredients.
They chose yellow this time.
It was lovely to play with the warm dough, using our hands and tools to mould it into shapes.
We enjoyed a few lovely walks and lots of time in the garden this week.
The children are beginning to notice the weather changing and talked about it being windy.
Please remember to pack lots of warm clothes and welly boots.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
