Week commencing 20th November 2023 - Acorns 59

Welcome to our blog post.

This week we have spent lots of time exploring music and sound.

We have started to learn our Christmas songs and have had such fun playing along to The Acorns Christmas CD with instruments from our box.

We love the tambourines and have been learning to play them whilst singing Jingle Bells.

Have the children started to sing any of our songs at home ?

If you would like a copy of the CD please speak to Mrs Franks or ping and email in to Mrs Mundy (Sophie)

We have started to feel a little bit festive this week at The Acorns and have made some decorations for the nursery.

As a while group, we created a fabulous snowman who is hanging on one of the doors.

Some of the children decorated his hat, others created the buttons, some painted and collaged - a real group effort and it looks fabulous.

We had lots of fun creating these leaf monsters in the garden.

The children collected the leaves that had fallen onto the lawn and we put them all in the tuff spot.

We then chose our favourite leaf and used googly eyes and stickers to decorate it.

They are adorable !!

We have enjoyed lots of garden time this week.

Playing football, making mud cakes, collecting leaves, going on bug hunts and playing on the pirate ship.

We also enjoyed some cosy reading time, snuggling up on the sofa with our favourite stories.

The coloured chick peas are always a firm favourite ...

Christmas crafts have started.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Stay Warm !

Mrs Franks and The Acorns Team.
