Week commencing 25th November 2024 - Acorns 25 and 59.
Week commencing 25th November 2024
Hello and welcome to our blog post.
We hope you enjoy reading about our week and seeing some of the lovely photos we have taken.
This week our focus has been on Thanksgiving.
We spoke to the children a lot about what we are grateful and thankful for and they gave some lovely answers.
“I’m thankful for toys.”
“I am thankful for my Mummy and Daddy”
“I am lucky because I have loads of toys”
“I am thankful for playing”
"I have a batman costume at my house."
We tried to weave into our week chats about being thankful, not just for material things but also for time spent with us and kindness shown to us.
In both nurseries, We have enjoyed time in the garden.
The children from 59 had a lovely walk to visit the tree on Compton Road. We were intrigued to see if it had been decorated for Christmas.
We saw it still had beautiful poppies hanging from its branches.
We will hopefully visit again next week.
We are so grateful to the people who live there, it’s such a kind thing to do and we all really enjoy seeing the wonderful decorations.
We went on a hunt for Ice and weren’t disappointed when we found huge sheets of it.
The toys we had put into pots had also frozen.
"The dino is frozen!"
“I think I might smash it.”
“Its really crunchy when you stand on it.”
“I had ice on my car.”
Mrs Neve made some delicious banana cakes with the children at 25 this week.
The children took turns to measure and mix the ingredients.
We were very thankful that we got to eat the delicious cakes afterwards.
We continued with our special Christmas craft this week
The children have been working very hard.
We have been measuring, painting, sawing and decorating.
We played an old school memory game at 59.
The children chose one item each to hide under the tea towel and then we took turns to remove something and everyone else had to guess which item was missing.
They did brilliantly !
Mrs Franks told the children that she used to play that game when she was a little girl.
This week was parent consultation week – if we have not managed to chat to you yet please speak to us next week and we can arrange a suitable time.
Can we ask that reports are signed, commented on and brought back to The Acorns so we can stick them into your childs books. Thank You.
Here are a selection of photos from our week.
Thank you for reading our blog.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Mrs Franks and The Acorns Team.
