Week commencing 29th January 2024 - Acorns 25.
Welcome to our blog.
This week we have been learning about Australia.
Rafi and his mummy brought some very special things in for the children this week.
Some yummy lamingtons for us to taste, lovely books for us to read, colouring pages of Australian animals and also some balloons.
Thank You so much for bringing in bits to support our plans this week.
We really appreciate it.
We enjoyed making boomerangs.
We used cotton buds to create dot pictures on the cardboard.
Dot pictures are a form of traditional art in Australia.
We talked about the Great Barrier Reef and spent time making jellyfish and fish for our display which will be in the entrance hall / cloakroom.
The children stuck some different coloured ribbons on their jelly fish - many of them using this as an opportunity to count and to recognise colours.
Mrs Finney brought in some Australian things to share with us. She brought in a passport, a wooden boomerang, some summer clothes, some photos, some books and a plane ... we talked about how long it would take to get to Australia.
A very long time!!
We had lots of fun pretending to be Koalas and Kangaroos - we can jump very high !!
We loved hopping around in the garden.
We spent lots of time outside this week, enjoying some winter sunshine.
We hope you have enjoyed reading about our week.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Mrs Franks and The Acorns 25 Team.
