Week commencing 8th January 2024 - Acorns 59
Ciao Everyone !!
This week we have been learning all about Italy.
It has been a very busy week and I hope that the children have enjoyed the experiences on offer.
We painted flags, made pasta necklaces, ate Italian foods each day and enjoyed making our own pizzas on Friday.
We created on own versions of the Learning Tower of Pisa using stickle bricks, duplo and magnets.
On Tuesday we had a lovely surprise when one of our children (alongside his mummy) baked us a yummy focaccia bread. We ate it alongside our risotto at lunch time.
Thank you !
Ryan brought in something very special to show his friends. It was a rock from Mount Versuvius.
We talked about volcanos and watched a little video clip on the different types of volcanos – active, dormant and extinct.
We played the floor is lava and jumped around using the cushions as stepping stones.
We collaged pizza on paper plates with Miss Searle – we added cheese, ham and vegetables all made from paper. They look amazing.
On Friday we enjoyed a trip to number 25 – we played and listened to stories read in Italian read by Sara (Lily’s Mummy)
Thank you so much for coming in and talking to the children in Italian. It was so very kind of you.
When we got back to 59 we made our own pizzas for lunch. The children rolled out their dough and topped their pizza with sauce, cheese and peppers.
I almost forgot to mention the sweet treat we had for tea on day - YUMMY !!
The snow .... How exciting !
We wrapped up warm and rushed outside to play in the snow.
Trying to catch snow flakes.
I really hope you have enjoyed reading about our fun packed week at The Acorns.
Have a great weekend everyone.
See you next week for more fun, games, laughter and learning.
Don't forget your passports - Next week we will be travelling to Turkey.
Mrs Franks and The Acorns 59 Team.
