Week commencing 9th October 2023 - Acorns 25

Welcome to our blog post.

We hope you enjoy reading about our week.

This week we have been talking about pets.

The children have told us about the pets they have at home or who are part of their extended families.

They also shared stories of the pets they wish they could have.

“My granny has a cat.”

“I have a little dog.”

“I will have a pet dinosaur.”

We had some stuffed animals / soft toys in our home corner and some dog care item such as bowls, collars, leads.

We were amazed how the play changed with just the addition of a few items.

The children pretended to walk the dogs.

They fed the cats from the bowls and pretended to be vets.

We were very lucky to meet Jack and Jeff, Mrs Vollers guinea pigs.

They were adorable and we loved hearing all about them.

We know what they like to eat and where they sleep.

We were all very brave and held them on our laps, stroking them gently.

Thank you to Mrs Voller for bringing in her pets to share with us.

We enjoyed lots of time outside in the garden and as usual we tended to our garden at the surgery.

We like chatting to people as they walk by.

We put our tools and buckets into the trolley and pull it along to the surgery.

Mrs Irwin says we are very strong!

We are learning about roots and how they grown downwards.

We enjoyed a walk to the pond to see the ducks – the children loved to see them swimming around.

“Quack Quack.”

“Look – Ducks.”

They listened well to instructions and walked safely. Well done everyone !

We collected feathers on our walk which we then used to create wonderful pictures using the feathers as paint brushes.

We hope you have enjoyed reading about our week.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
