Welcome to our blog post.

We have had a fabulous week at Acorns 25.

Our new children are settling well and we are so proud of them.

It is so lovely to watch as their confidence grows and they begin to explore the environment.

Monday-

We discovered some lovely home-made playdough when we arrived.

We then added some rice to the dough to add in another sensory element and the children loved hearing the rice grains crunch when they used the cutters.

It was National Teddy Bear Day - Thank you to everyone who brought in bears this week.

We enjoyed lots of Bear stories together and we fed our bear cereal with spoons, this was a great hand - eye coordination activity.

Tuesday -

Mrs Finney introduced us to someone very special today - she brought in her cat (hand puppet.)

Her name is Honey and she has a sister called Marmalade.

We all thought she was rather lovely and had lots of fun playing with her.

We fed our bear some more cereal as he was very hungry.

We got crafty and made initial letter cards for our books using glue and very sparkly gems.

After lunch we played outside and had lots of fun in the water tray.

We made some bear masks.

Look how adorable these are ...

We then decided that our bears were hungry again, so this time we fed them pasta !

We also did some potato printing with bright coloured paints.

We spent lots of time outside in the garden exploring and having fun.

We played with water and made big splashes.

We found a huge spider which was very exciting and led to use singing Incy Wincy.

We wondered how tall our bears were and used stickle bricks as a measuring tool.

Friday

We made rainbow salad with peppers, carrot, cabbage, red onion and sweetcorn to take home.

The children tried to identify the colours in the salad and name each of the vegetables.

They were very happy to take some home to show/share with their families.

Here are a selection of other photos from our week.
